Las Olitas

We teamed up with our friends at Las Olitas to bring you made-in-Hawai’i neoprene bags. These gorgeous limited-run bags were made by hand with so much love in Honolulu by Mariana, the talented designer and seamstress behind Las Olitas. She holds a degree from Parsons School of Design in Paris, where her love for fashion was elevated and nurtured. At the age of 21, Mariana followed her dreams to O’ahu, a destination she had always longed to call home. Las Olitas, which translates to "Little Waves," reflects Mariana’s passion for surfing in Hawai’i.

Haku Maui

Have you ever felt the beauty that ignites for all to see when adorned with a Haku Lei? As the precious gift is placed upon your head, your inner light begins to shine brighter than ever and announces the radiant presence of honor. This is exactly what Haku Maui is all about! The foundation of Haku Maui is located on the slopes of Haleakala in the upcountry area of Makawao. Here is where the owner and creator of Haku Maui, Britney Alejo-Fishell, began her craft.  As her passion for Lei-making developed, so did her dream of sharing her passion with others. The beginnings of Haku Maui have been nothing short of a blessing.

Capturing Brit’s forever lei in Tag Aloha Co x Haku Maui’s Pūliki collection has been a dream collaboration for us both as Mana Up graduates. Brit’s light of aloha glows and grows in her words and wisdom that she has so graciously shared with us all.

“Through lei, we tell a story. A story of place, of loved ones, of kuleana. Each story special and meaningful in their own way. Much more than a beautiful woven display from the heart, lei brings us together and carries with it an embrace. Lei reminds us that our true responsibility comes with the knowledge of the land, of language, and of treasuring the deeply rooted art of traditional Hawaiian Lei.

-Britney Alejo-Fishell Founder, Haku Maui

Ua Body

Ua Body continues the legacy of natural skincare, first formulated by Ua Body founder Leala’s mother on the Island of Hawai’i 30 years ago. “Ua” means "rain" in Hawaiian, symbolizing nature's nurturing and healing effect and reminding us of our connection to our beloved home.

We love the bodycare Ua Body has created (Alana is currently obsessed with the Pakalana BodyMist). When Leala, who is also a Mana Up alum, approached us to bring her brand art to life as a pareo, we couldn’t have been happier!

With the natural beauty unique to Hawai’i in mind, Leala created this design to represent the florals that inspire and bring her fragrances to life. With this Tag Aloha Co x Ua Body collaboration, it is our hope that you too feel the inspiration and sense of aloha.

Aloha de Mele

WHOLE FOODS

In July 2013 we were handed an opportunity that brought us together and changed our lives. Alana was asked to make shirts for Whole Foods, and she knew AJ was the guy to call. Even though we thought it was going to be a one-time thing, we still poured our heart and soul into it (like we do with everything). Then we started putting our designs on our now-iconic bags… and the rest is history! We created a category for Whole Foods that did not previously exist, with the help of the amazing team we worked with (and still work with to this very day), and became Hawaii's first Fairtrade Certified business. We love our partnership with Whole Foods Hawai’i, and our exclusive bags and prints (over 100 and counting) can be found only in Whole Foods Hawai’i stores (Kailua, Kaka’ako, Kahala, and the ninth island - Las Vegas).
